Terms of Service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cana mobile app and the canaprayer.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Really Broke Ventures ("Cana", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who can use Cana
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cana. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
Your content
Prayers, notes of encouragement, circle names, and anything else you post are yours. You keep ownership of your content. So that the Service can work, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit your content to the people you choose to share it with. This license exists only to operate the Service and ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared with others and copies remain in their view of the Service, or where we are required to retain it by law.
You control who sees each prayer: only you, a circle, specific friends, or everyone on Cana. If you create a share link, anyone with that link can read that one prayer until you turn the link off.
Community guidelines
Cana is a quiet, gentle place, and we intend to keep it that way. You agree not to post content that:
- harasses, threatens, demeans, or bullies any person or group;
- is hateful, abusive, or discriminatory;
- is sexually explicit or exploits or endangers minors in any way;
- promotes violence or self-harm;
- is spam, an advertisement, a scam, or an attempt to solicit money;
- impersonates another person or misrepresents who you are;
- violates someone else's privacy or shares their personal information without consent;
- infringes anyone's intellectual property or breaks any law.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report any prayer or note from inside the app, and you can block any user. We review reports promptly, and we may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines, at our discretion and without prior notice.
Not professional advice
Cana is a place for prayer and encouragement between people. It is not a source of medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and content on the Service should not be treated as such. If you or someone you know is in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
The Service
Cana is free. We work hard to keep it available and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content will be preserved. Please keep your own copies of anything precious to you.
Termination
You can stop using Cana at any time and can delete your account from Settings in the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Really Broke Ventures will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the extent any liability is not excludable, our total liability is limited to one hundred US dollars (100 USD).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Really Broke Ventures from claims arising out of your content or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Really Broke Ventures is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that state.
